- Every cancer survivor knows about starting over. No matter who you were or what you were doing before cancer, everything you thought you knew gets called into question after being diagnosed with a potentially life-threatening disease. During treatment, it may be hard to think about anything except completing treatment. Being in remission, however, is your chance to move forward. This is the new you. The Fearless Scholar Foundation was started to encourage young cancer survivors, like you, to dream again. The idea is not that you will never fear again; however we want to encourage you to not let fear prevent you from achieving your dreams and educational goals. You have already come so far and there is no need to limit yourself now. In that regard, please tell us about your future dreams and educational goals:
- There are multiple metaphors that people use when describing their cancer experience. Some people describe it as a war or battle while others describe it as a journey. When thinking about or discussing your diagnosis and treatment, how do you describe it? Does this best describe the way you cope with adversity?
